We’re going back to understand how we got here.
Somewhere between the child you were and the life you built, something followed you out. This is the journey of turning around, looking it in the face, and deciding it does not get to lead anymore.
BEGIN THE JOURNEY ♡
Sometimes trauma does not leave when childhood ends. Sometimes it grows up with us. It sits at our dinner tables. It raises our children. It enters our marriages. It teaches us how to love, how to fight, how to leave — and sometimes how to abandon people before they have the chance to abandon us.
“How did we get here?”

Maybe you were a wounded little girl trying to raise children while nobody was raising the wounded parts of you. Maybe you loved them fiercely and still hurt them. Maybe they hurt you too. Maybe everybody remembers the same family differently.
Everybody got hurt.
That does not erase accountability. It makes it possible.
Maybe your children stopped calling. Maybe your mother never apologized. Maybe you are watching your grandchildren grow through photographs you’re not supposed to see. Maybe everyone thinks you’re strong because they have no idea how many times you’ve fallen apart when nobody was watching.
I know something about standing at the edge.
I also know something about not jumping.

But you can decide what happens next.
You can tell the truth. You can take accountability without sentencing yourself to a lifetime of shame. You can grieve people who are still alive. You can forgive without reopening the door. You can reconnect without surrendering yourself. And sometimes, you can love someone deeply and still let them go.
The bloodline can change because you changed.
